3 8's and 6 Counts

Marking the 30th year of existence, we the La Salle Dance Company-Contemporary will give honor to those who came before us, to those who built the name of De La Salle University's premiere dance company.

From La Salle Dance Troupe to the La Salle Dance Company-Jazz, the company has never changed in its vision of excellence in the art of dance. We never stopped in sharing our stage to our fellow artists. We never failed in presenting meaningful pieces, concerts and performances, and we never stopped on growing.

To date, the company is composed of the same passionate individuals, with the same hearts for their craft. And on it's 30th year we present you
"3 8's and 6 counts"
; our definition of life through dance; our pains and struggles through dance; our happiness and joy through movement; the air that we breathe; the moment that we live by; a gazillion pictures and images that can only be expressed in the way we do best.

Celebrate with us. It is our turn to give back what you have given us for the last 30 years.

"3 8's and 6 counts" will be staged at the Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium on August 19 and 20, 3 and 7pm, 7pm respectively. Please contact any member of the company for tickets and further information.

Get Ready For The Showdown!

Being part of the UAAP Opening was such a fun experience! At first, we performers thought that our numbers (Showdown and Hataw Na with Gary V) wouldn't be crowd-pleasers (comparing it to previous seasons' opening numbers). But fortunately, we were proven wrong! I've been hearing a lot of good things about it so far and I'm glad to have been part of such an amazing season-opener. :)

If you guys weren't able to catch it live or on TV awhile ago (for viewers in the Philippines), I think there's going to be a replay at around 6:30 or 7 tonight at Studio 23. :) and the videos will be out on youtube anytime soon! I will post them here once I find some :D

Here are some backstage photos from my camera:

Can't wait to see official photos! :D

Oh and btw, today the first game of the DLSU Green Archers were also held (right after the opening). Congratulations on the first victory of the season (80-62 against UP)! ANIMO LA SALLE! :)

Are you ready for the Animo of an Archer?

"Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and think of what could go right."

So things have been getting a bit complicated nowadays, but don't worry, I can still manage. :) this whole week we've been preparing for the UAAP Opening Ceremonies which will be held TOMORROW! If you're from the Philippines and was unable to get a ticket for yourself, tune in to Studio 23 at 1PM! The first game (DLSU vs. UP) will follow right after :)

This season's theme is heroes. “Because we need heroes… I want people to realize there’s a hero in each and every one of us.” - Bro. Bernie Oca of DLSU. I'm glad that my school's hosting season 73 and that I'm one of the performers! :) it's been one of my dreams to be able to perform in Araneta Coliseum and I'm glad that I'm finally going to get to do so tomorrow!

Does this count as annoying?

So cute! :3

Things have started to become really hectic for me right now... midterms coming up, so many tests and video deadlines, Art in Action, UAAP opening (which I'm so stoked for, by the way), 30th anniversary coming up and lots more. Good thing I've got Toy Story 3 and Eclipse out of the way! Despicable Me is next!

Anyway I did say I was going to do a post about recent purchases, but maybe I'd save it for my next post! I thrifted some goods this week, I can't wait to show you guys! Bye for now, I've got tons of schoolwork to do, boohoo :(

Did You Miss Me?

I'M BACK!

I missed my blog anniversary :( it turned one 4th of June! I forgot :( but anyway, since I remember now, although I'm three weeks late... HAPPY BLOG ANNIVERSARY! Thank you to all my followers and readers who are still here even though I rarely post nowadays :) I will try my best to keep my blog updated!

So anyway, the past three-four weeks have been beyond awesome--thanks to a special someone who I will be introducing to you guys slowly throughout the year. :) school hasn't been too hectic yet, but I've already done tons of org work! It's only the start of the school year but we've already had a number of performances. And we're working on a couple more for next week!

Two Sundays ago, LSDC-Contemporary was invited to dance the doxology at the Step by Steph dance recital. We performed our LPEP day 2 piece, Gabriel.

Then last week, the Lasallian community celebrated the Centennial Kickoff, the one-year countdown to the 100th year of DLSU. All the performing groups and other student organizations performed in the program which was participated in by tons and tons of Lasallians. :) we did a pretty long dance piece and might I say it's one of my favorites so far! The choreography was pretty intense but I love it. I wish I could show you guys a video, but I don't have one :( so let's just settle with pictures. :)

Right now we're preparing for Art in Action: HUMAART Dance Series which we will be doing Friday next week. Then after that I'll be busy with the concert! My first term's really packed with tons of org stuff, and prolly acads by midterms. My video production class is kind of a hassle but oh well. I'm gonna be starting my thesis next term!!! I still have no idea what I plan to do for it. :(

But anyway, I'm sorry if I haven't been updating with my outfits and other stuff. I promise my next post will be about my new purchases and something special I got in the mail! :)

PS. I'm watching Toy Story 3 later, I'm so stoked!

First Week

First week of school was the Cultural Arts Office recruitment week so it was very very fun. :) during my long breaks, I manned our booth (which I designed!!! Will show you guys pictures soon) and had some friends over to hang out. The classes I'm taking this term are pretty interesting. I have Video Production and our first day was pretty intense! We had to go shoot a 2-minute video in 15 minutes using an HD camera and stocked knowledge (!!!)--imagine our surprise! But anyway I think it went pretty well :) I also got Feature Journalism and Basic Acting for Directors as my electives. All my other subjects are the boring floating subjects, which will find their way to the 'fun zone' in the middle of the term. :)

HAHAHAPPY THURSDAY :) I won't spill so much beans on it for now.

LSDC-Contemporary auditions were held yesterday and it went so well, I feel so happy! :) can't wait for the new members to finally join us in training :) I was supposed to watch Sex and the City 2 with a friend after, but we've postponed the date to Wednesday next week. I'm stoked!

Today I got a haircut :3 and my mom and I inquired about a condo unit which I hope we're finally moving into mid-June!

This week's kinda packed. I have a performance again tomorrow! Not complaining though coz I'm seeing good results! I've been getting a lot of 'omg you're so thin already!' compliments lately, makes me feel so good (and proud) about myself :D all the hard work in dancing is paying off!
