Just Like A Star :-)

Yesterday we, the LSDC-Jazz, were invited to dance for the Step by Steph Dance Recital. We performed a piece from our concert last March -- Like A Star (by Corinne Bailey Rae). :-)

Call time was at 11 am. Ate Cams, Reese, sir Peter and I met up at Shang while the others went straight to Tanghalang Pasigueno. It was at Shang when I realized that I left my memory card in the bag I used for school the other day so yeah, I wasn't able to take pictures using my camera. I was excited to take pictures pa naman since I haven't uploaded anything on Multiply for so long. :-( ANYWAY.

When we got to the venue, we started reblocking and adjusting whatever there is to be adjusted in the dance. We got thirsty after so we went to 7-11. It started to rain really hard when we got there so we were forced to take a trike back to the theater.

The show started at around 8 pm and we got to the theater at around noon.... 8 hours of doing nothing actually. Just had a couple runs on stage, made ourselves up, and took lots of pictures.

The dance went well though there was a part when ate Cams and I bumped into each other and I felt like my dress was falling down the whole time. When we watched the video though, the bump was very discreet (hooray for us. We didn't feel disappointed anymore :-D) and it wasn't obvious that I was trying to pull up my dress like a third of the time.

Sir Peter, ate Cams, ate Pre, Brent, Job (Brent and Job are from LSDC-Street, not Jazz. They were just there to help and watch. [just to avoid confusion :P]) and I had our late dinner at Nato's after the show. The others had to go home right after so it was just us. We first went to Shang cause we were supposed to eat at Krocodile Grill but when we got there, the place was full. We took a cab (and felt like we were in a can of sardines. HAHA. Job!) to Nato's instead (which was only walking distance from my house, yey!) and had our late late late dinner there. Got home a few minutes before I started writing this entry. :-)

I just wanted to share to the world how my day went. :-) and for archiving purposes! =))

Oh and I learned a thing or two about photography today from Brent and sir Peter. I think I want to get myself a lomo. :-)

Since I failed to bring my camera's memory card with me earlier, I took pictures using my phone instead.

Reese and I. Kim, I really want your dress (the one I'm wearing in the pic) :-D

I looked kinda Chinese today. That's a first! It's crazy cause I'm Chinese. :-D

Didn't know my phone's camera has special effects. =))

What I wore to and from the recital. :-D

Just like a star across the sky,
just like an angel off the page.
You have appeared to my life
feel like I'll never be the same.

"The dress code looks better on you"

Approximately 3 weeks ago, I started going gaga over fashion. I've never really been the type of person to research about fashion things and really proclaim myself to be a fashionista. Shopping was never really my hobby, either. But I think I've always had a good fashion sense. It's only recently that I've discovered my interest in the fashion world. Because of the stupid dress code my school started to implement, I tried to "research" on how to mix and match the stuff that I have. And voila! I instantly became addicted to fashion and its world.

I remember my grandparents telling me on the second day of school: "You know what, the dress code seems to look better on you". Maybe it's cause I started to really dress up and not just put on something I grab from my closet cause I lack time to actually think about what to wear? :-)

I started to shop for some sunnies and I became addicted to them. When I start cyberstalking (haha) my fave celebrities and models, I make sure that I save pictures of them wearing sunglasses. I personally think it's really weird, but here are some of my favorites (I love the outfits too, btw):

Taylor Momsen

Selena Gomez

Lindsay Lohan

Jessica Stroup

Demi Lovato

Willa Holland

Vanessa Hudgens

I need my own pair of Ray-Bans. When I get my own pair, maybe I'd stop obsessing over these pictures.

Now I think I'm going gaga over shoes. I was never a shoe-fetish girl. You can actually count with your fingers how many pairs of shoes I have! I'm the type who'd actually prefer to wear flip-flops any time. :-D but now I've realized how much I am in need of new pairs of shoes. The shoes I have are bound to wear out soon since they're the only ones I get to wear to school (flip-flops not allowed anymore--feel my agony). If I keep on repeating them, they'd get worn out pretty fast. So yes, I am in dire need of new pairs of shoes for different occasions.

I need to go shopping for new clothes, too. I'm happy I got new cardigans. I haven't seen them, though. My tita got them for me as a birthday present and they're still with her in the other house. I'm gonna get them maybe on the weekend! She still owes me plain white shirts. ;-)

This blog entry does not sound like me at all. :| but yes it's me. The newly discovered fashion-crazy side of me. :-)

10 Days Of Summer

School's out for 10 days due to a confirmed case of swine flu in DLSU. Today, I read somewhere, another case has been confirmed making it two cases.

When I first heard of the disease, I was indifferent (as usual). I didn't care because I thought that it would never be near me, that I would never really have the chance to be infected. But I was wrong. Now I'm really scared. Two cases in my school -- that's terrible.

Anyway. Now I'm gonna have the summer I never had. Just 10 days of it. Summer, yes, but it's been raining like crazy.

Call time for a gig tomorrow's at 11 am at Shang. We're supposed to meet up at 2pm but since we need to reblock some parts, call time got moved earlier.

There are only two things planned for my 10-day summer so far: gig tomorrow (Steps dance recital -- we're guesting), party on Saturday night. Yes, I finally get to party again. :-)

Oh and yes, I'm back to Blogger again. It's been a long time. Check out my old one: portraitofanempress.blogspot.com :-)
