Put Your Hands Up In The Air

I'm really glad I went to Tri-party despite feeling so lazy! Blacklight, neon paint, free-flowing drinks, awesome company, dancing... good times :) plus I hit two birds with one stone! Good times indeed :)

So... remember me saying that I was gonna party to work on my video essay? Well I wasn't very successful at that part. I was able to take a few videos but most of them were too dark :( I ended up taking photos instead and just enjoying the night away :)

Giordano shirt dress, white shoes, Chanel replica bag

First photo: me and some UP friends; second photo: me and my good friend Inno :); and third photo: With the tipsy one, Desa :)

Anyway I'm really really sleepy now. Will edit my video and catch up on some more episodes of Chuck when I wake up in the morning. Training again at 1 ;_;

When I Start To Dance I'm A Movie Star

Brown dress, blazer, Sanuk sandals, Estee Lauder bag, Tinkerbell necklace

Last night was SPIT (Silly People's Improv Theater) and Broadwayoke night at Mag:Net High Street. Two words: HILARIOUS & AWESOME! I'm glad I went with my mom. I think I needed the laugh after all the stress I've been under lately! CAO EB exam yesterday = brain fart. O_O I got a score of 94. I'm retaking it next week because to pass, you must get a score higher than 125. I still don't get why we need to take the exam if they want us all in the first place. Come on, keep on retaking the test until you pass? Stress. Isn't the test supposed to be an elimination of some sort? If you fail, you're out... something like that. Anyway, that's just me ranting.

I sang Good Morning Baltimore (Hairspray) and My Favorite Things (The Sound of Music) in Broadwayoke last night! I wanted RENT songs but the music sheets weren't available. And speaking of RENT--I'm excited to watch RENT (Manila cast) on the 13th of Feb! :)

On an unrelated note, let me share to you guys one of my favorite pieces in the latest season of So You Think You Can Dance:

So Deep - Kathryn & Legacy jazz piece
SO SEXY. It was sad to see the both of them leave the show :( they were my favorites!

Being a jazz/contemporary dancer myself, dances like this inspire me :) I miss Mia Michaels. :( don't you?

No There's Nothing That I Wouldn't Do

Amazing lines, extension, control, turns, lifts... oh and look at those legs!!! This is pure awesomesauce! I think I just fell in love with the dance :) this makes me miss ballet so much :( my feet miss the feeling of those foot-hugging Gaynor Mindens. :( I do contemporary and jazz now. My feet are still tortured (we dance barefoot). Although they are ugly, they're well-treasured!

Full House

Naf Naf blouse, Herbench skinny jeans, Charles and Keith sandals, People are People glitter belt, Black Velvet blazer

Today, I had a video shoot with my friend Desa for my TELPROD (Television Production) class. I’m glad that it went well--but we’re not done yet. I still have a few frames to shoot on Friday. I’m gonna party (as in clubbing, to shoot some clubbing scenes) to work on Friday! When Desa and I wrapped it up for the day earlier, we watched 2 recent episodes of Full House (Pinoy version). Heart Evangelista was so cute :3 I’m definitely watching it from the start when I have time (and only God knows when that will be :-<). That and the Korean version!

Until all my curls grow out, I'm gonna be curling my hair every morning. I'm actually getting a hang of it already. The then-hour process has become 20 minutes--yay me :)

On an unrelated note, I'm so glad One Tree Hill is back! Last week's episode was pretty awesome. I want a Quinn-Clay love story for myself :( can't wait til this week's episode finishes downloading!

"No one to talk to is reason enough to be blue."
- The Girl In The Moon - Everly (Bethany Joy Galeotti and Amber Sweeney)

Baby Could You Blow My Heart Up

Groove slam, work it back
Filter that, baby bump that track
Groove slam, work it back
Space Cowboy just play that track
Gaga in the room, so starstruck
Cherry cherry cherry cherry, boom boom
-LSS. Starstruck, Lady Gaga

Very very busy days ahead :( I am now loaded with school and org work--sleepless nights, here we go again. I can now really feel that I am a Communication Arts major! It's really fun but very very stressful at the same time :( I've yet to start shooting for my video essay (I'm starting tomorrow!) but I've done my storyboard. I've yet to start thinking of a possible thesis topic. I've yet to print my photos for the photography class homework. D: all these academic work + tons and tons of org work (prod + performances) = O_O *brain explodes*

By the way, I finally got myself a tripod! Had a Quiapo adventure with some of my friends the other day and decided to hit up Hidalgo Street (aka the photographer's lair) in Manila to finally get myself a tripod for cheap. Got a really good one for 700php! Hidalgo Street = my new happy place :)

Cheap thrills. Here's more: my mom got us some new coats--3 pieces for only 50 pesos! What a bargain, indeed :) can't wait to show them to you guys, they're awesome. :) anyway, I'll leave you guys with what I wore to school today!

Topshop printed dress shirt, Mandarin Oriental blazer (used to be my aunt's uniform when she worked there years ago. I love how stylish hotel personnel uniforms are!), leggings, Charles and Keith sandals

One Of Those Rare Occasions

Vintage floral-fringed skirt worn as a dress, Wanko blazer, thrifted boots

I rarely dress up for school. Usually, I just go in jeans or a skirt, a plain shirt or top, sneakers or flat sandals. I just dress it up by wearing a blazer or cardigan and accessories. Today though, I dressed up just because! Actually, the only "unusual" item I wore was the boots... but I guess it's true, shoes can make or break an outfit! This outfit would've looked different if I wore flat sandals/doll shoes.

I have this thing about wearing my skirts as dresses! So if you see me in a dress in school, it's 90% likely to be a skirt ;-)

Gunk

Reading Jess' blog inspired me to create a post just like hers. Here's my take on "what's inside your make-up bag?"!

I've got tons of make-up because I'm a performer, but here are the ones that make it to my everyday bag (while the rest stay on my dresser at home):

1. Clinique pink pouch
-I didn't take a picture of the whole thing coz it's dirty :-s basically it looks like a pencil case!

2. The Color Workshop make-up palette
- It came with a huuuuge palette of colors! The eye shadow and blush are detachable--you can replace them with other colors from the palette, depending on which one you wanna bring!

3. L'oreal Paris White Perfect Pearl liquid foundation in golden beige (G3)

4. Chanel eyeshadow
- My only real Chanel so far! Hihi. Check out the gold shadow... it's almost gone!

5. Merle Norman definitive eye pencil in goldspice
- What I use on my lower lash line every day.

6. The Face Shop mascara, eyeliner and eyebrow pencil

7. The Face Shop jelly tint gloss
- I must get myself some clear gloss. I can't wear this on top of my nude lipstick coz it makes my lips turn pink! Nude lipstick purpose defeated :|

8. Main Street concealer

9. The Color Workshop lipstick in pink, Revlon Color Stay Lip Tint in Honey
- nude lipstick = my current fave!

Will do a "what's inside your bag?" edition soon!

I'm Going To Meet Her Now

I've been listening to KPOP non-stop since last week. It's so funny because even if I don't understand much of what they're singing, I find myself singing along--most especially to Kim Bum's I'm Going To Meet Her Now! It has got to be the weirdest LSS I've ever had.

Anyway... Sorry for the lack of updates, guys! School's back and my schedule's getting hectic by the minute. I'm still getting myself used to the schedule. After two terms, I have morning classes again :-( good news though, I'm always early for school now (like 30 minutes-1 hour early)! I guess I should make that a habit :-) last week wasn't very hectic yet--since it was the first week of the last term of the academic year, everything was just about introduction to the courses. This week however, the professors have started on their discussions and have already given us homework we don't even have any idea on how to do. :| (video essay due in 2 weeks! Supposedly next week but we had the deadline extended a week more. I don't know how to work a handycam. I don't know how to edit videos. I ain't good at creating storyboards--I don't draw. This is hell for me :-( can I make a photo essay instead? ;_; [unfortunately this is for Television Production class and we're done with photos... last week's homework we submitted yesterday!])

Also last week, we held the 2nd general assembly for Dancelebration! I'm stoked for DC :-) it's going to be held on February 6, 2010 at the DLSU Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium. Being part of the organizing team (LSDC-Jazz/Contemporary) and productions committee is tough! Things become more and more stressful as the competition day approaches. *.* tomorrow we start setting up or booth! So Lasallians, visit our booth at the Miguel Walk :-)

Oh and thank you for all the wonderful comments (both here and on Facebook) on my new hair! Glad you all liked it :-) unfortunately it doesn't look like it did in the pictures anymore :-( the stylist did an awesome blowdry job to my hair that day I decided to keep it for the first day of school xD

Topshop white shirt, Topshop black skinny jeans, Sanuk sandals, Hot Topic "used" belt, thrifted brown velvet blazer

On the second day however, I tried straightening it myself. I failed :-( I don't know how to blowdry my own hair! Plus it'll take too much time for me to do so. I have naturally curly hair and about a third is still rebonded (lower part), so it looks really weird if I let it be after I take a shower. So what I did was... I curled the ends! And I have been doing so for the past few days too (fortunately I wake up early enough to do so!) :-) some of my friends actually thought that I had my hair permed. I guess I do a good curling job? :-P

Topshop blue shirt, my fave Revlon nude lipstick

Topshop salmon tank top, skinny jeans, yellow shoes, tricolor scarf
(I felt lazy to curl my hair today so I put it up in a bun and just curled the "bangs" :-P)

Majors are starting to heat up. Danceleb's in 2 weeks (holymama). Third term, bring it on!

PS. I haven't been able to take decent outfit photos recently, sorry guys :-( I still don't have a tripod!
PPS. last week I started this thing called 365project. If you have time, go and visit it! Leave comments, too if you please :-) http://365project.org/pixierixie

Taking My Korean Obsession To The Next Level

NEW HAIR!

I had my hair done at Tony & Jackey (a Korean salon) =)) ok kidding about the taking it to the next level. I've always wanted to try to have my hair cut at Tony & Jackey. I love how they cut my cousin's hair (she has curly hair and it just looks so good because of the way it's cut) so I wanted to try it out for myself. Safe to say they do not disappoint! I'm definitely going back to that salon :>

It's the first time I actually paid for my hair to be styled/cut! I feel so proud *u*

Oh and btw, it's blowdried in the photos. I still don't know how it'll look like if I let it be after I hit the shower, but whatever. I can always fix it in the morning *if I wake up early enough* :-P

The Summer Vacay I Never Had...

Christmas break 09! 1-month long, baby! La Salle actually gave us 3 weeks, but since I didn't have any finals to take, I got a week more. I love being in CLA. :-D

It's the first time that I just went bumming around or doing whatever for a whole month. During summer vacations I usually go dancing, or take theatre.

Well here's what I did in those four weeks (which I haven't blogged about yet xD):

1. UP Visit :-) hung out with Desa, Inno and friends. Watched some Engg Week events and had a short drinking session at Dencio's.

2. Marty's birthday dinner at Friday's High Street. Also the day I spent so much on shoes! :-P

Happy 9th birthday, Marty!

Don't you just love her outfit? :-) love her Zara boots!

Zara knitvest cardigan, Topshop shirt, XOXO gray pants, So Fab heels, Ralph Lauren bag

3. "Set Block" party at Justin's in the far South (Alabang). HAHA. Just because I live in the North (QC) :-) apparently only 5 from our "set block" came to this party. The rest were Justin's friends. It was a fun night, nevertheless.

I love Rockband! I suck at the drums, tho. :-( but I rock the vocals, boo-ya!

Woohoo CommArts 108! (Carmi, me, Anya, Carlos)

4. Dinner with Brent at Omakase. REALLY GOOD FOOD! Thanks for the treat, tiddybur! =))

5. Zoie's 3rd birthday. A luau in January! Ended up not swimming though. The closest we got to hitting the pool was dipping our feet! We played Monopoly as well. I've finally used my first credit card... in Monopoly. =)) funny how we don't need paper money in Monopoly anymore! And that the lots are much more expensive now (millions!!). I wasn't able to take outfit photos :-(

Crocheted white vest, Mango tank top, brown belt, orange floral skirt, beaded slippers

6. Grade school batch reunion. :-D this is something we've been trying to plan for a couple of years... it finally happened! Although only a couple of us came (I was even late :-P), it was still fun. There was SO MUCH catching up to do, we stayed up late even if majority had school already the next day. Next reunion would be during one of our batchmates' 18th!
So I wasn't part of the picture :)) (Ivan, Sheena, Jen, Kat, Jazzie, Karen)

7. BOYS OVER FLOWERS! I finally gave in. I know I'm late but what the hell. :-P I got addicted to Boys Over Flowers over the break! My cousin lent me a dvd but it wouldn't work, so I ended up watching on Youtube. It frustrated me when I couldn't find the very last episode on Youtube! Super BV. But I was able to find it someplace else (Mysoju.com)--the savior of my sanity xP I don't know how many times I cried, but I know it made me smile more. Lee Min Ho (Gu Jun Pyo), Kim Bum (So Yi Jeung) and Kim Hyun Joong (Yoon Ji Hoo) make me smile :-) their smiles make my heart smile! They make me want to find a Korean boy for myself. =)) I'm also a SoEul shipper (So Yi Jeung [Kim Bum] & Chu Ga Eul [Kim So Eun]) :-) they were too cute for my life! I'm so getting myself an original dvd and I'm going to watch it over and over again :-D

Boys Over Flowers made me study a few Korean words as well. I'm proud to say that I know how to count in Korean now! :)) and I can say a few simple words like please, hello, no, yes, happy birthday, etc. I've been watching Korean shows on YT also (Kim Bum's High Kick... will watch Dream soon)! I WANNA GO TO KOREA.

8. Avatar in 3D. It was amazing! I watched it without knowing who's in it or what it's about and I loved it. :-D gave me occasional headaches, though. But it was worth it. It was worth missing the 7:55 show, ending up watching at 11pm. Thanks, dad!
Photo: google

9. Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. Such a cute movie! I love the soundtrack :-) oh and I got surprised that Charice Pempengco was in it!
Photo: google

10. New Year's Revolution -- Power Hour party at Empire Superclub. My last hurrah before school starts! It was fun, although I think last year's Power Hour was better. I missed partying! Can't wait for the next one. I hope more of my friends would come! It was just me and Mikko at this Power Hour. :)) I did see a lot of people I know, none of them I'm really close to though.

My resolution :-P it's a good one, don't you think? ;-)

Topshop purple tank top, Topshop gold cropped vest, People are People skirt, Charles & Keith oxford boots, Swatch vintage gold watch, random accessories

11. Dream. I started watching Dream yesterday. I've only seen 2 episodes and Kim Bum hasn't had much exposure yet, but in what he's appeared in, he was awesome! He's definitely an AMAZING actor (disregarding his freakishly good looks and killer smile :-P)! I'm watching episode 3 today. Thanks to mysoju.com :-P unfortunately though, I wouldn't be able to marathon this like I did with Boys Over Flowers coz school starts tomorrow. At the most I'd be able to watch an episode a day. D: waaaa. Well anyway. xD
Photos: google

I just realized that I started and ended this post showing off the same shirt. =))

Hope you guys had an amazing Christmas vacation, too! So far I think this vacation's the most epic for me!

xx,
Erika :-)
